TUPELO — United Furniture Industries is returning to the Tupelo Furniture Market after a three-year hiatus.
Jay Quimby, United’s executive vice president of sales, tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that the company has signed a three-year lease on a 17,000-square-foot showroom.
Quimby says United will open its new showroom at the Fall Tupelo Furniture Market, which runs Aug. 19-23.
United recently opened a manufacturing plant in Verona.
United says its long-term marketing strategy includes six markets per year, with two each in Las Vegas, High Point, North Carolina, and Tupelo.
The company was founded in 1982 in Mississippi. It has 12 manufacturing plants nationwide. It employs about 1,600 workers at plants in Okolona, Amory, Nettleton and Hatley, as well as a frame shop in Vardaman.
