Movie theater returns to Pearl River County after renovation

PICAYUNE — The only movie theater in Pearl River County has reopened after getting new owners and an extensive renovation job.

WLOX-TV reports the former River Ridge Cinema 4 in North Picayune is back with a new name, facility and staff. Now called the Mississippi Acadiana Cinemas, the theater was renovated over five months. The new theater has four auditoriums, each with a large digital projection screen, as well as new chairs, carpet and ceiling tiles.

The largest theater seats 154 people.

The owners say movie goers will notice lower prices at the ticket counter than in larger cities.

Summer hours are seven days a week and include a summer matinee.
