Pascagoula company to build new Deer Island pier

BILOXI — The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources says a Pascagoula company has won the contract to build a new pier at Deer Island.

Walters Diving and Marine placed the winning bid of nearly $299,000 and the money will be paid out of the Tidelands Funds.

The Sun Herald reports construction on the pier will begin this summer.
