Lampkin Butts, president and chief operating officer, Sanderson Farms Inc., has been appointed to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s New Orleans Branch. Butts’ term runs through Dec. 31, 2017.
Butts is filling an unexpired term. Butts has served as president and chief operating officer of Sanderson Farms Inc. since 2004. He has been with the company since 1973, serving in various roles of increasing responsibility, including division manager and director of processing and sales. From 1995 to 2004 he was vice president of sales and a member of the board of directors.
Butts serves as a board member of the Mississippi World Trade Center and the National Chicken Council. He is a former director of the Mississippi Poultry Association, the Southeastern Poultry and Egg Association, the Association for Excellence in Education and the United Way of the Pine Belt.
Butts received his bachelor’s degree in marketing and sales management from the University of Mississippi.
