The Madison Board of Aldermen unanimously approved on Wednesday a plan for a 60-acre retail development called Grandview East.

The development by Mattiace Properties will be in addition to the 207,000-square-foot Forum at Grandview, which was developed by Mattiace and CBL and was completed five years ago, according to release from the company.

Grandview East will be on the east side of Grandview Boulevard.

The first phase, construction of which will begin “soon,” will include four “junior” anchor stores and five restaurants on 23 acres, according to the release.

Total size of the project will be 350,000 square feet.

A published report listed the master plan as including Hobby Lobby, Marshall’s, Cost Plus World Market, Bed Bath and Beyond and Shoe Station. Restaurants shown on the plan would include Newk’s, Smash Burger, Salsarita and Half Shell.

However, the company said that while it has nonbindiung letters of intent from those brands, leases have been signed by only some of them.

“The development of Madison Grandview and our lifestyle center, Renaissance at Colony Park, 2 miles south of Grandview, has created Mississippi’s finest retail destination area,” Mattiace President Andrew Mattiace said.

Mattiace is planning two more phases of Renaissance.
