The Mississippi Department of Transportation recently named Lucy Hetrick of Canton as brand manager in the Public Affairs Division. Hetrick previously was a creative director for the Marketing and Communication Division of the Mississippi Development Authority.
Hetrick is a graphic designer with over 25 years of experience. At MDA, Hetrick was responsible for many projects including designing the state’s current car tag and generating materials for events such as Paris Air Show, Mississippi/NY Picnic, and various occasions at the Governor’s mansion.
Most recently, Hetrick was named the Jackson Advertising Federation’s 2015 Graphic Designer of the Year. This year she has also received a Gold ADDY at the local level, as well as regional and national Silver ADDYs. These awards aim to reward the best within the advertising industry through multitier competition and were not Hetrick’s first; she had been recognized for excellence in prior competitions.
A graduate of Millsaps College, Hetrick currently serves as a member of the Production Service Association, Jackson Advertising Federation, and the Canton Flea Market Committee. In her free time, she freelances as a graphic designer for the Canton News. Hetrick and her husband Dos, live on their farm in Canton. Hetrick enjoys riding and showing her quarter horse at local and regional shows.
