Snow possible for West Tenn., eastern Ark., north Mississippi

MEMPHIS — Weather forecasters in Memphis are telling residents of West Tennessee, north Mississippi and eastern Arkansas to expect winter storm conditions.

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a winter storm watch for Thursday night through Friday afternoon for large portions of the mid-South area.

Forecasters say a storm will move through the area on Thursday night, creating a brief period of ice pellets before the precipitation turns to snow. Sleet and snow accumulations could reach 2 or more inches.

Officials are warning motorists of limited visibility and slick roads.
