The 4,500-square-foot store will offer customers Internet, advanced video, voice, and home security products and services.  Opening is planned for mid February. The center will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

This is the first Xfinity Customer Center to be added in Metro Jackson, and is part of a broader national effort to enhance the customer experience, Comcast says.

The new center features nine service counters, an iPad ‘bar’ with interactive product demonstrations, and dedicated areas that showcase Comcast’s suite of products and apps. It also offers customers payment kiosks for automated bill payments and on-site staff who can help with equipment transactions and product demonstrations.

“We believe this is a major step toward an improved customer service experience,” said Doug Guthrie, regional senior VP for Comcast. “This newly designed location is the latest in a series of steps we are taking to change how customers interact with us.”

In 2015, Comcast announced a multi-year national plan to reinvent the customer experience and create a culture focused on exceeding customers’ expectations, at all levels of the company.

Comcast says it is hiring 5,500 new customer service workers nationally over the next few years, simplifying billing, and investing in technology and training to give employees the tools they need to deliver excellent service. Additionally, the plan includes the renovation of hundreds of stores across the country and the development of new stores and technologies that will enable customers to interact with us how and when they want.
