The University of Mississippi Medical Center’s three newest neuroscience intensive care specialists have been awarded subspecialty board certification from the United Council for Neurological Subspecialties.

Dr. Christa Ohana San Luis, Dr. Dani Choufani and Dr. Gilbert Mbeo, all assistant professors of neurology, are the only three physicians in the state given the distinction for 2015, with the results announced this month.

They join Dr. Hartmut Uschmann, professor of neurology, in holding that board certification at UMMC.

They treat patients with severe or life-threatening neurological disorders and provide critical care for traumatic brain and spine injuries.
