The Mississippi Department of Transportation’s Roadways Into Developing Elementary Students, or RIDES, Education Outreach Program was recently honored by the Mississippi Association of Partners in Education with the organization’s Governor’s Award of Distinction. The RIDES program prepares students in grades K-8 for the workforce of the future by having them utilize critical thinking skills to solve real-world problems, and aims to increase interest in the transportation industry, specifically civil engineering.
