Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica has named three to its executive leadership team.
Sean Hopkins was named Director of Casino Operations. Hopkins oversees the overall direction of Casino Operations in both table games and slots departments. His responsibilities include maintaining the security and integrity of casino games along with evaluating, recommending, and implementing necessary changes to improve operations of the departments and evaluating credit lines.
Hopkins began his career in the gaming industry with Sheraton Casino as a Dealer in 1999. He became a Table Games Supervisor in 2001 and was promoted to Pit Manager in 2004. He joined the Gold Strike Family in 2006 as a Pit Manager. He served as the Shift Manager in the Table Games department for the past three years. Hopkins is from Memphis.
Sherri Thomas was promoted to Casino Controller. Thomas is responsible for administering all casino control functions to include accumulating, analyzing, preparing, and communicating financial information used by management. In addition, she is responsible for the preparation of financial reports for non-management groups such as shareholders, auditors, regulatory agencies and tax authorities.
She has more than 20 years of auditing experience. The Tunica native began her career in the gaming industry in 1994 as a Lead Soft Count Clerk for the Treasure Bay Resorts. Since then she accumulated experience as Lead Auditor for Grand Casino Resorts to Barden Mississippi Gaming where she was promoted to Financial Specialist. She joined the Gold Strike Casino family in 2011 as the Assistant Casino Controller. Thomas received her MBA in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix – Memphis Campus.
Sean Holden is the new Director of Slot Operations. Holden oversees the day to day aspects of slot operations including floor operations, technical operations, and game performance. He also works closely with the marketing and analytics teams to ensure strategic alignment for Gold Strike.
He has more than 26 years of gaming experience, with seven years in Table Games and 19 as a Director of Slots/Operations. Holden will oversee multiple properties: Railroad Pass, Gold Strike Jean and Nevada Landing. Most recently he was the Director of Operations for Gold Strike Jean/JETT Gaming.
During his time in Las Vegas, Holden became passionate about the area, and that passion led him to create the Railroad Pass Museum. By collaborating with local historic organizations, he was able to erect historic monuments at Railroad Pass and Gold Strike Jean. He also volunteers with the United States Veterans’ Organization to help honor our veterans with Christmas dinner. He is from Aransas Pass, Texas.
