Natchez voters go to polls to choose mayor

Natchez voters are headed to the polls to choose a new mayor.

Aldermen and municipal judge candidates will also be on the ballot, but the only race still in contention is for the mayor’s seat.

Democrat Darryl Grennell and independent Eric Junkin are facing off in Tuesday’s mayoral election.

Polls will remain open until 7 p.m.

Deputy City Clerk Diane Holland said 270 absentee ballots were issued by the city clerk’s office. In the primary race, 282 absentee ballots were issued.
