Institute for Organization Management, the professional development program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, has appointed Scott Waller, IOM, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Mississippi Economic Council, to the National Board of Trustees. As a member of the trustees, Waller will help set the strategic direction of Institute and will take an active role in advancing Institute’s standard operating and curriculum policies.
Institute’s 24-member National Board of Trustees serves in an advisory capacity to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and has policy-recommending responsibilities. Each trustee is nominated by their peers.
In 2013, Waller was named to the Board of Regents of Southeast Institute, which is held at the University of Georgia in Athens. He is a 2011 graduate of Southeast Institute.
Waller joined MEC in 2006 as Senior Vice President-Public Affairs and was named Executive Vice President and COO in January 2014.
