Alexey Fomin, MD, PhD, and Muhammad U. Ijaz, MD, recently joined Hattiesburg Clinic The Arthritis Center – West.
Fomin received his medical degree from I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University in Russia. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, N.Y., and an internship in internal medicine at New York Downtown Hospital in New York, N.Y. He also completed a fellowship in rheumatology at University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky.
Fomin is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His special practice interests include systemic lupus erythematosus and antisynthetase syndromes. He holds professional memberships with the American College of Rheumatology and the American Medical Association.
Ijaz received his medical degree from Nishtar Medical College in Multan, Pakistan. He completed his residency and an internship in internal medicine at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J. He also completed a fellowship in rheumatology at Wayne State University and The Detroit Medical Center in Detroit.
He is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He has a special practice interest in adult rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Rheumatology.
