Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula has been given a nearly $44 million addition to a previous contract.

The Sun Herald reports the contract is for long lead time material and engineering and pre-production activities for construction of a DDG-125 ship.

About 27 percent of the work will be done in Pascagoula.

It is expected to be completed by July 2022.
