Former USDA Rural Development State Director Trina N. George has joined the City of Grenada as Director of Personnel. She will be responsible for the operation of the city’s human resources department and will be helping to implement strategic staffing plans, compensation and benefits structures and comprehensive performance evaluation processes.
In 2009, George, was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as Mississippi’s State Director for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development. Her appointment made history by being the first woman appointed in this position for the State of Mississippi.
Previously, she served over 15 years as a Special Projects Coordinator/Field Representative for Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (Miss.-D).
