DSU to host women/minorities conference
CLEVELAND — Delta State University’s Center for Community and Economic Development, the College of Business’ Small Business Development Center and the Office of Procurement and AmeriCorps VISTA Project A.S.S.E.T.S. will serve as hosts to the first Business Conference for Women and Minorities Sept. 9 from 8 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. in the State Room of the H.L. Nowell Union on DSU’s campus.
Those attending will be able to attend a variety of training seminars. Over lunch, attendees will be treated to a panel of experts regarding sources of funding, and a “State Agency Vendor Fair” will also be held during the afternoon. Those attending will be able to meet others with similar backgrounds as well as becoming familiar with state agencies with whom they will work closely with in the future.
The workshop is open to the public and is free of charge, though reservations are required. Entrepreneurs and those involved in economic development are invited and encouraged to attend.
