Health Department awards CONs

The Mississippi State Department of Health has awarded certificates of need (CONs) to three healthcare facilities.

RCG of Mayersville, LLC, has received CON authority for the relocation of its end stage renal disease (ESRD) facility from Mayersville to Rolling Fork. The proposed project will relocate the facility from a sub-standard modular structure to a leased masonry building, which has been remodeled to accommodate an ESRD facility. The capital expenditure is $120,000

Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula has received a CON for the amendment of a prior CON for the addition of a wellness center. The proposed project consists of 54,812 square feet of new construction, and will now include a wellness center comprised of an open gym, a three-lane lap pool, locker rooms and fitness classrooms. The additional capital expenditure is approximately $8.61 million, and the total capital expenditure is approximately $22.24 million.

King’s Daughters Medical Center
 in Brookhaven was awarded a CON for the cost overrun to a prior CON for the expansion/renovation of its hospital. The proposed project involves the expansion and renovation of 47,345 square feet of existing space and the construction of 13,894 square feet of new space designated for new additions to the facility. The additional capital expenditure is approximately $2.92 million, and the total capital expenditure is approximately $14.26 million.
