MDA joins energy initiative

JACKSON — The Mississippi Development Authority’s (MDA’s) Energy Division has joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) in the “Change the World, Start with ENERGY STAR” campaign to encourage Mississippians to reduce energy use in their homes.

The program coincides with the October observance of Energy Awareness Month. 


MDA has joined with millions of Americans to encourage individual actions that can make a big difference in reducing energy bills and greenhouse gas emissions. This month, MDA urges Mississippians to take the ENERGY STAR Pledge by visiting www.energystar.gov and sharing their energy-saving stories to inspire others to make energy-efficient changes.



“MDA wants to do our part to reduce our country’s greenhouse gas emissions and to encourage citizens to make energy efficient changes at home and at work,” said Motice Bruce, director of MDA’s Energy Division. “We are proud to spread the word about the difference that individuals in our community can make by taking energy-saving steps in the workplace and at home.”

   Motice,

   You need to look in your Jackson’s own backyard to the HFH Metro Jackson. They are building all of their houses to the Energy Star level and to the Energy Conservation Code level.

   Wouldn’t it be nice if all builders would build to the Energy Star level and to the Energy Conservation Code level.
