GULFPORT — Two South Mississippi conservative groups have announced the endorsement of a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 4th Congressional District.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast 912 Group and the 912 Project Hattiesburg have officially endorsed Joe Tegerdine, a Republican candidate who is running against 20-year incumbent, Gene Taylor, a Democrat, in the November election. Other 4th District 912 Project and Tea Party groups are expected to follow suit, making Tegerdine the Tea Party candidate for the 4th District.
“After a considerable candidate vetting process, we feel that Joe Tegerdine more closely represents the principles and values that are needed in order to restore accountability to our government,” said Daniel Triplett, founder of the Mississippi Gulf Coast 912 Project. “Joe has the integrity, the experience and the conviction that our voters expect of our representative.”
Tegerdine is running on a platform of “New Leadership, Limited Government, Fiscal Discipline and a Strong National Defense.” A statement on his web site reads: “Our government should not have the authority to take our private property and give it to a corporation or other private entity. There is no justifiable reason for infringing upon our fundamental and constitutionally protected property rights. Whatever the rationale today, will be the unwinding of more of our freedoms later. Today is the day we begin to build a bastion around our Constitution to protect our fundamental rights of life, liberty, and property.”
The 912 Project is made up of political watchdog groups with over 1,000 members between the Coast and Hattiesburg groups and several hundred thousand nationwide. They were formed through conservative national talk show host Glenn Beck’s “We Surround Them” project with the goal to help bring back accountability in government.

I’m not a tea Party member but I am very impressed by the sincerity and consistency in both message and action of Joe Tegerdine. He has fought hard for a better Mississippi with his clean campaign for The People. He will lead the way to repeal all unconstitutional laws and I will support him all the way.

These endoresements show that everyday voters are fed up with business as usual and are eager to support a candidate who will really represent them in Washington rather than trying to represent Washington to us. Joe Tegerdine is running on a platform of support for the Constitution, limited government, fiscal responsibility, and strong national defense. These are core issues that Joe Tegerdine believes every south Mississippi voter is interested in. This is why I support Joe Tegerdine for Congress.

Now at least we have a candidate who will represent the people of south Mississippi and will not be beholding to any outside interests nor party. It is time to fire Gene Taylor and repeal the bill! Go Joe Teaparty.

Joe Tegerdine is the man to bring the power back to the people of Mississippi and take it away from the special interest groups in D.C.

Yes, I agree Malcolm. Joe will bring a voice back to the people of Mississippi. Joe Tegerdine represents the people of Mississippi. I like it that Joe is firm on fiscal responsibility a requirement for all elected officials. He is also for term limits and no other candidate running in the 4th district will support term limits. Career politicians do not want to retire they want to get in and stay in no matter what. South Mississippi want someone who will make an impact in DC with hard work and a strong voice while training new leaders for the job to represent the 4th district. I like that! No one thinks like Joe But I really like the common sense ideas. Not politics as usual that’s for sure.
