Coast man pleads guilty to copyright infringement
GULFPORT — A Bay St. Louis man has pleaded guilty to copyright infringement for reproducing and selling copies of the “Family Guy” television series.
Neil John Brimelow accepted a plea agreement Nov. 8 in U.S. District Court in Gulfport.
A federal grand jury in Los Angeles indicted Brimelow in April.
The case was transferred from the Central District of California to the Southern District of Mississippi since Brimelow now lives near Gulfport.
The 37-year-old Brimelow told the Sun Herald he’s a huge fan of the show and sold the DVD sets on eBay from episodes taped off the air.
Sentencing is set for Feb. 7.
