There is a woman in my office who is from Canada and her husband is from Holland. They have both spent thousands of dollars in attorney fees and countless hours in their efforts to be law abiding citizens in our great country. Her husband has become an American citizen. They both work hard and PAY TAXES.
I am sympathetic to the plight of the illegal immigrants in our country but they are here illegally...duh! We don't see a guy robbing a bank and say Oh, he's robbing a bank but that's okay, I'm sure he probably needs the money". These people are robbing us. We have enough legal citizens robbing the tax payers of this country without having the illegal ones do so.

I am an American citizen. My citizenship is legal as I was born in the United States. I am required to have a valid drivers license when I drive. I am required to show at least two forms of identification when applying for a job. I am required to show my social security card and identification when opeing bank accounts or applying for admittance to further my education. Children are required to give a social security number and proof of immunization when entering school.

What is the big deal in asking immigrants to show proof of immigration status? If they are legally working in the US there should not be a problem. Show the papers and obey the laws of the land that is putting food on your families' tables. Of course if the immigrant is an "illegal" then there may be the cause of the frustration. One thing that puzzles me is why "ILLEGAL" immigrants have any rights. I am a citizen of this country and if I am "illegal" in anything that I do then I can be prosecuted and sent to jail. Why do people that are in this country illegally possess any rights to protest what our government does?
