Dr. Wendy Atkins-Sayre, assistant professor in the Communication Studies Department at the University of Southern Mississippi, was recently awarded the Outstanding Alumni Award from her alma mater, Texas State University at San Marcos. Atkins-Sayre joined USM in 2007 as director of The Speaking Center and scholar within the Communication Studies Department.
She has published in the areas of social movement rhetoric, visual rhetoric, identity rhetoric, rhetoric and politics and communication centers.
