Jackson County backs 3 county tourism marketing

PASCAGOULA — Jackson County Supervisors have voted to support the creation of a singular, regional tourism marketing group along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
On April 9, Harrison County Supervisors voted to create the public-private marketing group, and Hancock County Supervisors passed a resolution of support Friday.
Jackson County leaders voted unanimous Monday to endorse the three-county effort, which has been pushed by the Gulf Coast Business Council for years.
The coastal entities are asking the legislature to authorize the creation of the organization, which would evolve from the Harrison County Tourism Commission and be called the Mississippi Gulf Coast Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau.
