“Where I’m trying to get to is the fact that this permit is not legal,” Miller said. “What they did (last Tuesday) is illegal. We will challenge this, no doubt about it. This ain’t over by any stretch of the imagination, until a court says it is.”

In response to your question Mr. barrilleaux, the MS Supreme court usually releases its' decisions on Thursdays or Fridays. So, "we", all in opposition of this coal plant and the mine, and the alleged legality of the MS PSC's ability to provide an "emergency" continuance against the wishes to the court will be addressed in all due time. It just doesn't seem logical, that the MS Supreme court justices will allow a 3 man committee (PSC) to just defy the court's ruling, without some action taken by the court over these allegedly illegal maunders.

I live in the footprint of the mine. You should just "hear" and "see" the destruction already. Trees are burned. The co2 put out by all the diesel trucks and smaller trucks and the hundreds of trucks that were driven and parked at the plant. People on the road across the street from the plant had to sell their homes as they would not have been able to withstand the noise and dust and lights (at night). And this is just the building of the plant itself. I cannot imagine the forthcoming destruction of the strip mining to come. Those of us who are retired and have spent savings to make their homes comfortable are sad. Gone are the quiet days. Gone will be the clean air that Kemper County has enjoyed for so many years. The numerous ponds will be ruined by leakage from the stacks and eating the fish with mercury is what we have to look forward to. Just think how many wind turbines and solar farms this ridiculous amount of money could have bought. Yes, we do have wind here and sun!
