HBAM honors members

The Home Builders Association of Mississippi recently named two outstanding members as Builder Member of the Year and Associate Member of the Year, the top individual honors awarded each year. Chosen as 2012 Builder Member of the Year was Brandon Elliott of Gulfport. Elliott is the president of Elliott Homes, LLC, where he focuses on speculative and custom homes. He is a certified professional and Energy Star builder. He serves on the Home Builders Association of the Mississippi Coast’s Drawdown and Codes committees as well as their board of directors. He serves on the HBAM Member Services Committee and is a member of the board of directors. He received the National Association of Home Builder’s Membership Award for recruiting the most members in March. He was named 2012 Builder Member of the Year from the Home Builders Association of Mississippi Coast. He also received the Mover & Shaker Award from GoToPlaces for the month of June and is featured on the cover of South Mississippi Living’s May issue.
Elliot’s industry accomplishments include serving on the Rotary Club, Biloxi Bay Chamber board of directors, Gulf Coast Chamber and the Coast Young Professionals Organization. He is a 2012 Graduate of Gulf Coast Leadership.
His community involvement includes serving as a Minor League Hockey Coach, directing a free Roller Hockey School for kids, sponsoring Little League and Kid’s Football. He volunteers his time with Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen, Feed My Sheep and the Salvation Army. Elliott and wife, Adrienne, reside in Gulfport.
Named HBAM 2012 Associate of the Year was Lee Mitchell of Jackson. Mitchell serves as senior vice president of Trustmark Bank in Jackson and manages residential construction lending for the state. He has been in the banking business for 18 years.
Mitchell is an active member of the Home Builders Association of Jackson where he has served on numerous committees including Membership, Parade of Homes and the Associates Council. He served as HBAJ associate vice president from 2008-2010. He served on the HBAJ Executive Committee in 2008-2009 and has served on their board of directors since 2007.
He serves on the HBAM Executive Committee and as associate vice president. He is also on the Association Planning and Mortgage Finance Committees. He has served on the HBAM board of directors since 1997 and is a Build PAC Builder Means Business Contributor. Mitchell serves on the Single Family Subcommittee and the Associate Outreach Network for the National Association of Home Builders as well as serves on their board of directors.
He is a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors Association and also the Leadership Greater Jackson, Class of 2009. He is an active member of the American Cancer Society and coaches U-6 Girls Soccer at the Jackson Football Club. Mitchell, his wife, Clancy, and children Jacks and Susie reside in Jackson.
