It makes far more sense to have as many, if not all, state agencies near each other and the state capitol rather than spread out over adjoining counties.

While I can understand but not appreciate the self-serving interests of those legislators representing areas outside Jackson wanting to keep workers and the monies this generates in their respective communities, I think they need to concentrate here on the needs of the state as a whole and not their own vested interests.

If it makes sense to spread workers outside and away from the capitol, let's really do some cost saving and discontinue having legislators come to Jackson to meet. Instead let's use the power of the Internet, remote video and web conferencing to permit them to do their roles from their home base, home or office. This would eliminate having to pay for lodging and travel and many could finally begin to use the laptops provided by the state, they apparently don't use now.

Why do I say, 'don't use now'? Well, try communicating with legislators via their state email and see how few, very few, respond.

Put every agency possible in a Capitol Complex....in Jackson.
