Agency issues more beach advisories on Coast

MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST — The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), through its Beach Monitoring Program, has issued water contact advisories for two sampling stations — one in Harrison County and one in Jackson County.

These segments of beach are not closed; however, there may be an increased risk of illness associated with swimming in this area.

The beaches are:

• Station 12B — Porter Avenue Beach in Biloxi (from St. Peter Street east to Dukate Street)

• Station 14 — Front Beach in Ocean Springs (from in front of the Ocean

Springs Yacht Club east to Jackson Avenue)

The following beaches remain under previous advisories:

• Station 7A — Long Beach Beach (from Oak Gardens Avenue east to S. Girard

Avenue)

• Station 10 — Gulfport Central Beach (from Alfonso Drive east to Arkansas Avenue)
