PASCAGOULA — Kevin Holland’s first job — a summer employment while in college — was in the Environmental Services Department at Singing River Hospital. Now Holland, a Pascagoula native who now resides in Ocean Springs, has been named as CEO of Singing River Health System in Jackson County.
“After going through a careful selection process, we as a board are extremely pleased to bring on Kevin Holland as our next CEO,” said Mike Heidelberg, president of the SRHS board of trustees. “Kevin is a local man with a wealth of experience in health care administration and a tremendous knowledge of Singing River Health System. Clearly his experience here will serve him well as he steps into this very key position for the community.”
Holland grew up in Pascagoula, where he graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1989, having served as class president his sophomore, junior and senior years. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Mississippi State University, plus both a master of science in health care administration and an MBA from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
In 1998, Holland came back to Jackson County to take an administrative position with Singing River Health System. Over the past 16 years, he has served in several different capacities, including that of administrator of Ocean Springs Hospital. Since 2009, he has been COO/hospital operations for the entire health system.
“I can honestly say that my job many years ago in Environmental Services at Singing River Hospital is the reason I became interested in pursuing a health care administration career,” said Holland. “Now, to be named as chief executive officer for Singing River Health System, I have reached a wonderful spot in my life’s journey. I know this organization and its people better than most, and I have had the great advantage of learning from some of the best leaders anywhere. I commit to the community that I will give my very best to maintain SRHS as a world-class provider of health care. The success of this organization, its people, and this community is more than a job to me — it’s personal.”
Holland and his wife, Beth, have two sons, Jackson and Hayes.
