Man who sent ricin-laced letters to be sentenced for fondling

legal-gavel-300x300TUPELO — A Mississippi man sentenced to 25 years for sending letters dusted with the poison ricin to President Barack Obama and other officials is scheduled to be sentenced on unrelated state fondling charges.

James Everett Dutschke is scheduled to appear in Lee County Circuit Court today.

Lee County district attorney investigator Paul Howell has said prosecutors continue to recommend a 20-year state prison term to be served at the same time as the federal term, followed by a 25-year suspended sentence. Any sentence is up to the judge.

Dutschke pleaded guilty in January to state charges of inappropriately touching three students at his martial arts studio in Tupelo,

Dutschke was sentenced on the federal charges May 19 by U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock.
