The Tupelo school board has extended the contract of superintendent Gearl Loden. The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports Loden’s contract now runs an additional year — through June 30, 2017. Anthony Dean Cook has been named the superintendent of the Amory Separate School District. The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports the school board voted 5-0 to approve the appointment.
