The absence of a statewide building code makes Mississippi the most vulnerable of the 18 Atlantic and Gulf coast states deemed most hurricane-prone, the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety says. JACKSON — EastGroup Properties’ profit rose in the first quarter, but not as much as analysts expected.
