Defense firm Mav6 represents Ms. on Inc. 500; six others land on Inc. 5000

Privately owned defense contracting firm based in Vicksburg represents Mississippi’s lone entry on the Inc. 500 for 2012, though six other companies received rankings on the magazine’s Inc. 5000 for this year.

In rankings released Tuesday, systems integrator Mav6 moved from a 2011 ranking of 373 to 230th on the Inc. 500 list, propelled by revenue growth of 1,556 percent over the past three years. The 5-year-old Mav6 reported 2011 revenue of $116.9 million through leveraging commercial technology to support the needs of the military.

The magazine puts Mav6 at 18th fastest growing in the government services category. The management and technology services company’s workforce has grown by 108 employees over the past three years, bringing the total to 138. Though headquartered in Vicksburg, it has offices in Northern Virginia.

Here’s a rundown on Mississippi private companies earning spots among the magazine’s top 5000 based on revenue growth:

>>> Camgian Microsystems of Starkville reported 2011 earnings of $5.5 million with three-year revenue growth of 265 percent. The company has 32 employees, of whom 23 it added this year. Camgian’s earnings growth gave it a Number 10 ranking in the Inc. 500’s “Engineering category.” In 2008, the company reported earnings of $1.5 million.

Camgian develops satellite router, low-power micro-electronic, and advanced sensing platform technologies for the security, defense, industrial and commercial markets. Its capabilities include design for systems, chips, boards, and advanced RF, INC. 500 reported in a thumbnail of the company.

>>>Security Credit Services of Oxford took a ranking of 1,431 on reported 2011 earnings of $7.1 million with three-year revenue of 257 percent. Security Credit Services is ranked 81st in revenue growth among financial services companies. In 2010, it placed 48th on the Inc. 500 with revenue of $21.1 million. The 15-4mployee company purchases and

pursues collection of delinquent and charged-off consumer debt.

>>>Transcript Pharmacy of Jackson won a ranking of 1,832 on 2011 revenue of $35.6 million. The company reported three-year revenue growth of 152 percent. The 15-employee company has a health industry ranking of 145th fastest growing.

The company provides pharmacy services for patients with long- term medical needs. It offers free home delivery and helps process insurance forms and any prescription changes.

>>>Jackson insurance brokerage Morgan White Group reported earnings of $67.4 million and three-year revenue growth of 99 percent in earning a ranking of 2,449 on the Inc. 5000. The magazine lists Morgan White as the 28th fastest growing in the insurance category.

The 169-employee company has added 59 jobs over the last years. In addition to insurance brokerage, Morgan White provides administrative and marketing services to individuals, groups, and carriers.

>>>Ridgeland software maker Bomgar placed at 3,297 with reported 2011 earnings of $31.2 million and revenue growth of 60 percent over the past three years. In 2009, the company placed 411 on the Inc. 500.

The 177-employee Bomgar has an industry ranking of 234. The company has added 44 workers over the past three years. Founded in 2003, Bomgar’s software is designed to allow tech support reps to securely support any device, system, or platform remotely from anywhere in the world, Inc. magazine says. About 6,500 companies in 65 countries use Bomgar software.

>>>Synergetics of Starkville showed 2011 earnings of $17.3 million and a three-year growth of 41 percent in receiving a ranking of 3,856. The company holds a ranking of 555 among private IT companies. It specializes in network services, cabling, application and Web development, training, and hardware and software. Synergetics has 58 workers, 17 of whom it added over the past three years.
