It was a packed house Tuesday night at the Mississippi Coliseum, and it would appear that nothing is better for political relations than the healing voice of Elton John.
While they may not be perfect political bedfellows, front and center (literally on the front row) for the events were Republican Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann and Rep. Steve Holland, a Democrat.
Hosemann seemed to be less animated than Holland, who waved a hanky in celebration for the near-three-hour concert. Eventually, John rewarded the celebration by signing the the hanky.
In the end, politics were put aside for an evening of fun and frolic, thanks to Elton John.
The event came to a climax when John performed “The Bitch is Back” to the delight of the nearly 9,000 in attendance as the crowd, including Hosemann and Holland, sang in unison.
I am sure there were other top-shelf Mississippi celebs at the event, but none were on display in the front row more than Hosemann and Holland.
