In 1962, James Meredith became the first African-American student to be admitted to the University of Mississippi.
His newest memoir, “A Mission from God” recalls the integration of the school and the violent reaction that followed. The book also reveals a man who believes he had and still has a divine calling to help transform Mississippi for the better.
This is the first of a series of interviews Meredith taped with Mississippi Business Journal video journalist Stephen McDill.
