It didn’t take long for Mississippi wireless carriers to announce their planned retail release of the new Apple iPhone 5.
National providers AT&T, Verizon and Sprint are prepping displays and readying for presales ahead of a September 21 release.
Customers for prepaid carrier Cricket and Ridgeland-based C Spire Wireless will have to wait an extra week. Both companies have set a September 28 rollout for the iPhone 5. A C Spire representative wouldn’t comment on the later release date or whether the phone would be available on the regional telecom’s new 4G LTE network.
Billed as the, “thinnest and lightest iPhone ever”, the streamlined design of iPhone 5 will support Apple’s new A6 chip with graphic speeds twice as fast as its predecessor.
Some extra features include:
- 7.6 millimeters thin, weighs 112 grams
- 4-inch Retina display
- 8MP iSight camera
- More Siri (of course)… this time she’s intelligent enough to Tweet and make Facebook posts.
