C Spire Wireless says it will launch 4G LTE services in the Jackson metropolitan area on Friday.

The Ridgeland wireless provider says service will be turned on in the cities of Jackson, Clinton, Flowood, Pearl, Brandon, Ridgeland, Madison, Flora and Richland.

The company will also release its third 4G LTE device, the Franklin Wireless smart USB hotspot.

The Metro Jackson area is the first of 31 Mississippi markets expected to receive mobile broadband services this month.  Six more additional markets will be added by the end of the year, according to company representatives, a total population area of 1.2 million with 364 cell sites.

The Ridgeland company, formally known as Cellular South, recently celebrated its one-year anniversary as the re-branded C Spire Wireless.
