Baptist Health Systems and Landmark Healthcare Facilities are starting construction of the skybridge connecting the company’s new medical office building over North State Street to Baptist Medical Center.
According to a press release, the first phase of the process begins Friday at 11:00 pm and will continue until Sunday, December 16 at 7:00 pm.
North State Street will be shut down between Manship Street and Poplar Street.
There will be detour route signage to direct traffic through a portion of the Belhaven neighborhood. The structure’s bridge truss is expected to be hoisted into place on Saturday afternoon.
Portions of North State Street will also be closed on the evenings of December 21-22 and on January 6.
