Somber is how Madison’s Donna Bruce describes the scene in Boston, one day following the bombing at the Boston Marathon.

Bruce, a partner at BKD, LLP in Jackson, finished the race in 3 hours, 50 minutes, some 20 minutes before two bombs ripped through the streets.

She says she wasn’t close enough to hear or see the bombing when it happened and was actually getting much of her information from people back home, in the forms of texts and calls, in the minutes after event.

“It was just crazy,” Bruce said from Boston Tuesday morning before her afternoon flight back to Jackson.

“I felt a lot better once we realized that all the Mississippi runners were accounted for,” said Bruce, who did not get back to her hotel until late Monday night where security was very tight.

Today is much different for Bruce, who ran in her first Boston Marathon in 2012.

“Last year was so different. It was a celebration. It was fun.

“This year … this city is so affected. … There’s ATF, FBI and military police everywhere.

“I will be glad to get home.”

  1. Not stupid Says:

This was the same lady that died for the kids at the Sandy Hook shooting.

  2. Hellothere Says:

    Not Stupid,
    You are in fact stupid!
This is not the same lady, and you saying that just adds you to the list of gullible internet dumbasses. Research your shit, asshole.

  3. Actually.. Says:

There are side by side photos of the “principle” at sandy hook (who died) an a shot of someone’s TV that is on Fox News with the SAME PICTURE, except closer up, claiming it was “Donna” who was a few blocks away from the bomb explosions. Fox soon after replaced the image with this photograph. So, research YOUR shit, sir/ma’am.

  4. momsaid Says:

Thank you for posting her picture. There are some nuts out there claiming (again) that Sandy Hook’s ghosts are still alive. I’m so grateful that she came through unharmed, and I pray for all those harmed or affected by this attack.

  5. Tamara Says:

The picture of the Dawn from sandy hook was photoshopped onto the Fox news feed. They did not flash it and then correct it.

  6. The truth Says:

This is so fake this is the SAME lady from sandy hook

  7. Kat Says:

Tamara is correct. People are way too gullible these days!

  8. Thisone Says:

I think the bombing happened but the government is behind alot of crazy things. The Sandy Hook thing is weird the things I’ve seen from it and found out that seemed like a conspiracy.

  9. Ashley Says:

This is the former principal of Sandy Hook. She was a principal there BEFORE DAWN was. The marathon was dedicated to the Sandy Hook shooting and the people they lost. Donna was brought back to the school so the kids could see a familiar face. Donna was close to the blast. THAT is what the report was about. Its not Dawns ghost. Its not a mix up. Its people like you guys that dont actually research what theyre talking about before they put it out for the public to read. Thus having more idiots see it and believe in the nonsense as well.
So lets go over this one more time.
    Dawn-last principal. No longer here.
Donna- principal before her. Brought back. At Boston marathon close to explosion.
    NOT THE SAME PERSON.

  10. Maria Muir Says:

“Donna Page, a familiar face to the Sandy Hook School community, will once again take the healm of the elementary school. Page has been chosen to serve as interim principal when the school reopens at Chalk Hill in Monroe, the New Haven Register reports. Page worked at Sandy Hook School as principal until her retirement in 2010.” http://newtown.patch.com/articles/donna-page-will-serve-as-sandy-hook-interim-principal

  11. Smarterthanyou Ibet Says:

WTF are you all talking about? The Donna Bruce pictured is from Jackson Mississippi – NOT Donna Page from Sandy Hook school. Am I the only one that gets that? She is totally unrelated to the Sandy Hook story.

  12. Pay Attention Says:

The lady pictured is Donna Bruce, not Donna Page the retired principle returning to Sandy Hook. Pay more attention and do a little more research!!

  13. malka Says:

all I know for sure is satan is the author of confusion.and he prowls the earth seeking whom he can destroy.do not get caught up in the deception.let it go ,

  14. Makavelli Says:

even though the picture thing might have been a hoax, the boston bombing was obviously an inside job, the government already planned it out a year earlier, and there are so many signs before the incident took place, that show it truly was a conspiracy.
