Hattiesburg Clinic marks half-century of Pine Belt health care

May 2, 2013

Health, Health Care

Hattiesburg Clinic will celebrate 50 years of service to the community on May 1, 2013.

The clinic was established on May 1, 1963 when 10 physicians partnered with a mission to focus on excellence and service to the patient. Today, Hattiesburg Clinic is the state’s largest privately owned specialty outpatient facility. While the Clinic has grown to over 300 physicians and providers, caring for patients in more than 18 counties in South Mississippi, its mission has remained the same.

The anniversary celebration launched with Hattiesburg Clinic’s second annual Rise and Shine Half-Marathon and 5K on April 6. The event raised $15,000 for The Arc, a local non-profit organization that provides programs and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Hattiesburg Clinic will also host a commemoration ceremony on May 8 to honor its founding physicians and their families. The ceremony will begin at 7 a.m. on May 8, 2013 at Hattiesburg Clinic’s main clinic at 415 S 28th Ave. in Hattiesburg, Miss.
