JACKSON, Mississippi —  Joey Hudnall of Jackson-based Neel-Schaffer, Inc., was elected the 2013-2014 President of the Mississippi Main Street Association (MMSA) Board of Directors. He has served as Treasurer and Vice President on the executive committee since joining the board in 2011.

The MMSA board is made up of a statewide group of business, government and community leaders. Barry Plunkett, 2012-2013 Board President, passed the gavel to Hudnall at the recent Annual Awards meeting in Jackson.

During the meeting, the 2013-2014 executive committee officers were announced and voted into office. New officers include: Past President Barry Plunkett of B. Plunkett & Associates, Inc., in Jackson; President Joey Hudnall of Neel-Schaffer in Jackson; Vice President Mark Loughman of Mississippi Power in Gulfport; and Treasurer Suzanne Smith of Renasant Bank in Tupelo.

Hudnall is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Neel-Schaffer, Inc., which is headquartered in Jackson and has offices throughout Mississippi, as well as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. He has a wide range of experience in planning, civil engineering, and construction management, with emphasis in water, wastewater, airports, highway, urban drainage, structures, landfills and municipal engineering.

Hudnall has been instrumental in the development of the firm’s growth in the nine-state territory, helping Neel-Schaffer grow from providing services for local civil engineering projects to one of the leading engineering firms in the Southeast.

Before being promoted to COO, Hudnall worked in the Neel-Schaffer office in Columbus, where he managed oversight for the company’s North Mississippi and Alabama operations. While in Columbus, he was also involved in a variety of civic organizations and activities throughout the Golden Triangle area, as well as serving on the Columbus Main Street board of directors.

Hudnall received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1990 and is a registered Professional Engineer in Mississippi.

Designated Representatives to the board are Ken P’Pool, Mississippi Department of Archives and History; John Poros, The Carl Small Town Center at Mississippi State University; and Joy Foy of the Mississippi Development Authority.
