7838791CLARKSDALE, Mississippi – A loss for Mexico and Texas officially became Clarksdale’s gain Friday as AirGuide opened a new plant here in which it will manufacture products ranging from heating-and-air conditioning fixtures to lighting designed to reduce hospital infections.

The more than half-century-old company based in Hialeah, Fla., next to Miami, manufactures parts for the HVAC industry and energy efficient lighting products. Last August, the company announced the consolidation of its operations in Mexico and Houston, Texas, into the Clarksdale facility.

The new facility will create 40 full-time jobs with a company investment of $720,000.

“From Clarksdale, AirGuide will manufacture a variety of industry leading products for the HVAC industry and energy efficient lighting products,” said Doug Marty, CEO of AirGuide Manufacturing.

In addition, AirGuide has ownership in multiple companies that will also occupy space in the facility. American Green Technology will produce energy-efficient induction lighting fixtures here, and the Arcalux Health Risk Management System and Smart Fixture, which removes pathogens known to cause infections from hospitals, will also be manufactured here, Marty added. “We are very excited to see this project come together.
