Developer Jim MacPhaille has been informally polling city officials and residents of the Second Street neighborhood to see what kind of development the neighbors would welcome. A condo hotel or hotel plus a restaurant and theater are on the short list, but MacPhaille is still in the early planning stage.

The latest hurdle in the sale of the school is the debated ownership of and access to a driveway across the street from the main school campus. The school board’s attorney said all parties are working toward a fix so that the sale can be completed.
