It’s not uncommon to hear the city of Jackson called to as “Jacktown” in reference to its volume of auto thefts.

Now, the Capital City thieves have raised the bar — they stole a city bus.

According to a report from the Clarion-Ledger, the Jatran bus was taken last night from the bus yard on Terry Road and was later found abandoned on Clifton Street.

Jatran buses are big and loud, but there has yet to be an arrest in the case, though the investigation is ongoing. So right now it seems Jackson’s thieves have pulled off a coup.

The only good news is the bus was okay.
