West Nile disease is transmitted from birds to mosquitoes and finally to humans. It can be fatal and to date there is no cure.

The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) is reporting one new human case of West Nile virus (WNV) for 2013. The special coupons are used by low-income residents to purchase fresh produce at local farmers markets, a healthy alternative to fast or processed food options.
