Homebuilders endorse Reeves for Lt. Governor

July 13th, 2011

The Home Builders Association of Jackson has endorsed Tate Reeves’ candidacy for Lt. Governor. In an e-mail statement, President Wade Quin is credited with noting Reeve’s “experience as a conservative money manager” and his success “in protecting taxpayers as Mississippi’s State Treasurer.”

The “Recent Posts” tag line about your post on the Homebuilders Assn. of Jackson endorsement of Tate Reeves is misleading as I noted on your Facebook page. It implies, unless you access the full post, that Homebuilders generally endorse Mr. Reeves. In fact, I understand that other local Homebuilders Associations endorse Billy Hewes in the Lt. Governor race and that the state association hasn’t endorsed.

Another of your posts about endorsements indicates that Sen. Trent Lott endorsed Hewes but that just about everyone else endorses Reeves. Please get up to date. The Madison County Journal, political commentator and former Fordice Chief of Staff Andy Taggert and long-time Republican activist Billy Mounger have all announced their endorsement/support for Hewes. Reeves has received additional endorsements as well. This weekend will bring further developments and endorsements. To be fair, it would be helpful if you keep your readers up to date on these developments and not report some and not all for certain candidates. Thanks.
