JACKSON — Michael Rubenstein, the long-time director of the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame in Jackson, has died. He was 60.

Rubenstein died of a heart attack Wednesday night, according to his office in Jackson.

LAUREL — The Laurel City Council has approved the construction of a nearly $300,000 facility at the Laurel Sportsplex in preparation for the 2013 World Series.
