GREENWOOD — Greenwood Utilities has taken a $350,000 hit after under-billing a local furniture factory for 15 years before the mistake was caught.
The Greenwood Commonwealth reports it received the details of under-billing after filing a public records request.

BOONEVILLE — A downtown furniture store that has been open for 67 years in Booneville is closing.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reports Dickerson Furniture began its store closing sale this week.
Hugh Dickerson opened the store in 1945, originally selling furniture and appliances. However, the store has offered only furniture since the 1950s.

NEW ALBANY — Furniture maker Albany Industries is planning to establish its first Virginia operation in Galax, creating 335 jobs.

The Mississippi Department of Employment Security says it has received notice that FTG is closing Nov. 30. According to the notice, 56 employees will be affected by the move.
