Mississippi highway dept. applies for I-22 designation

TUPELO — The Mississippi Transportation Commission has authorized the Mississippi Department of Transportation to submit an application for approval to designate U.S. Highway 78 as Interstate 22 in north Mississippi. MDOT cutting more than 40 jobs in Right-of-Way Division

JACKSON — The Mississippi Department of Transportation is eliminating 44 jobs in its Right-of-Way Division. Jason Scott, spokesman for MDOT, says the workers in the Appraisals and Titles section of the Right-of-Way Division were notified this past week.
