Jackson rejects state of emergency declaration over water

Jackson officials have declined to declare a state of emergency over high levels of lead discovered in Jackson’s tap water. Sixteen counties found to be high risk for lead poisoning

ACROSS MISSISSIPPI — As part of Lead Poisoning Prevention Month, and the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reports from 2004-2009, approximately 197,917 children were screened for lead poisoning.
